iPhone 4S

Some may say that the iPhone 4S was a let down from all of the hype and rumours that were formed about the iPhone 5, but without a doubt the phone is still an advancement and comes with many more features than the previous iPhone 4. The 4S goes a long way to ironing out some of the issues and hangups of the earlier generation, and with some of its new features Apple may restore its reputation as the finest smartphone producer in the market.

I want to highlight some of these features and describe their intelligence as many consumers who were dissatisfied with only a "4S" are overlooking the importance and advancement of this astonishing technology.

Introducing Siri -

Dual-core A5 Chip - the most powerful iPhone processor to exist - has two cores in the A5 chip that delivers up to 2X more power and up to seven times faster graphics. This will be significantly noticeable when launching apps, browsing the web, gaming and doing just about everything. Since the A5 chip is so power-efficient, the iPhone 4S has an outstanding battery life.

8MP Camera - the best camera on a phone to exist - with a 8-megapixel resolution and a custom lens with a larger f/2.4 aperture. Not to mention an improved backside illumination sensor, excellent auto white balance, advanced colour accuracy, face detection and reduced motion blur. It all means that no matter how many people, how much light, and how much action you capture, everything looks exactly as it should.

HD 1080P Video Recording - Record amazing 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second. The advanced backside illumination sensor and larger aperture let in even more light. Improved auto white balance makes colour even more accurate and temporal noise reduction helps you take great videos in low light. It also features video stabilization which removes unwanted motion caused by unsteady hands. With a tap of your finger the camera focuses on a specific object or area in a scene with subjects in both the foreground and the background.

FaceTime - FaceTime works right out of the box — no need to set up a special account or screen name. The front camera allows the person who you are communicating with to see you and the back camera allows them to see your surroundings.

AirPlay - With AirPlay, you can wirelessly stream what’s on your iPhone to your HDTV and speakers via Apple TV. And with AirPlay Mirroring, whatever you see and do on your iPhone appears on your HDTV at the same time.

AirPrint - Print your email, photos, web pages and documents right from your iPhone over Wi-Fi. There’s no software to download, no drivers to install and no cables to connect. With just a few taps, you can go from viewing something on the iPhone screen to holding a printed copy.

iPhone 4S is the first phone to intelligently switch between two antennas to transmit and receive, so call quality is better. It also doubles the maximum HSDPA data speeds to 14.4 Mbps. Which means faster connections, faster loading and reloading and faster downloads. And iPhone 4S is a world phone, so you can use it almost anywhere.

Repurposing

In a generation where we dispose of so many things on a daily basis, people are constantly trying to come up with ways to prevent all this waste. one of the easiest ways to prevent all this unnecessary garbage is by repurposing objects! There are so many ways to repurpose, and you can really get creative with it.

Repurposing can be as easy as using a toilet paper roll to keep your cords under control;

To using old tools as hooks;

And if you want to get really creative, old mason jars can be used in place of expensive lamp shades;

The possibilities are endless! With so much being thrown away every day, this is an easy way to reduce your waste and get creative! so repurpose an object and tell us how it worked out!

steve jobs: co-founder of apple: a sensation to society

Just a day after the release of the iPhone 4S, one of Apple's greatest innovators passed away: Steve Jobs. Steve was the co-founder of Apple and left our world too early at the age of 56 after battling cancer for serveral years. He revolutionized technology through his design, marketing and creation of personal computers and mobiles. Jobs is known as the man who forged Apple into a powerhouse and shaped how people listen to music and how they use computers.

In 1976, Wozniak and Jobs opened Apple Computer Company. The tech giant's spectacular rise, fall and resurgence would mirror Jobs's own life. Many credit Apple, and also Jobs, with changing the perception of what a computer can be -- from a high-tech tool used only by the business or science world to a commonplace device used by ordinary people. Jobs was named CEO of Apple in 2000. He jokingly referred to himself at the time as the iCEO.

Noticeably fragile, he had stepped down from Apple in late August to deal with the effects of an unspecified illness. Jobs had been treated earlier for pancreatic cancer after first being diagnosed in 2004. His innovations, ideas, and personality will be dearly missed by not only his family and friends but society and the number of people his inspirations have touched.

Floating Homes

In recent years, we've seen an increase in the amount of destruction caused by hurricanes, floods, and tsunamis. It's been a very personal experience for some who have lost their homes. To others it's been shocking and eye opening experience, having seen footage of these catastrophes online.

A big focus when rebuilding these areas is to ensure that houses are built to withstand such disasters. One of the trends to come out of this is the floating house idea. It's a new and innovative concept that can potentially save the homes of thousands of families. The idea behind this new way of construction is that the house can lift its foundation and stay buoyant until the natural disaster subsides. It's still in the preliminary stages of development, with only a few working designs at the moment. However, if we continue to see a rise in the number of these natural disasters, we are sure to see this trend take off! The houses boast an unchanged standard of living, while increasing peace of mind to those who live in flood and hurricane prone areas.

citroën tubik

After being shown in the 2009 Frankfort Motor Show and resuscitating the DS name, the French brand has revealed a new concept dubbed the Tubik.

The exterior is much similar to the 1948 to 1981 Type H van but that is the only similarity. It is 189 inches long, 82 inches wide and 80 inches tall, making it longer and shorter than the H. The name Tubik comes from the van that was launch in 1939 called the TUB.

The right side of the van opens upwards revealing the fascinating interior that seats 9 adults. It has three rows of seats; the first one is next to the driver’s seat, has room for two and can face forwards or backwards. The second row seats three and folds down into a table if the need be, and alternatively, it can hide under the last row to free up space. Finally, the third and last row seats comfortably three adults. The drivers seat, upholstered in leather, is placed separately from the other rows accessed through another door that opens upward on the left side of the automobile.

The side mirrors are replaced by cameras that transmit video to a screen mounted on the steering wheel.Under the hoods consists of a HYbrid4 drive train with a four-cylinder HDi turbo diesel engine that powers the front wheels and an electric motor that powers the rear wheels. (Citroën did not specify how much horsepower is put out by each.)

This pimp-mobile is fitted with Citroën’s Hydractive hydraulic suspension, ensuring that ground clearance stays the same no matter what it is carrying or towing. Therefore suitable for family vacations and travelling?
